Swamp Battle 2023

“Swamp Battle” is a cinematic key art piece created as part of my ongoing worldbuilding project. The illustration brings together multiple characters, creatures, and environmental elements in a single action-focused scene, showcasing stylized character design, creature work, and narrative composition. This image blends fantasy, sci-fi, and prehistoric influences into one dynamic confrontation.

My Role

Sole Creator: Responsible for the complete visual pipeline—from concept and design to modeling, animation posing, rendering, and compositing.

Responsibilities

Concept & Composition: Designed the overall scene layout, character interaction, and cinematic framing to create a dramatic, story-driven moment.
Character & Creature Modeling: Modeled the humanoid characters, creatures, and props featured in the scene, refining forms for stylized readability and dynamic posing.
Environment Creation: Built the swamp environment, including water, terrain, foliage, lighting accents, and supporting environmental props.
Materials & Lookdev: Applied and refined materials across characters, creatures, and environment assets to achieve a cohesive stylized look.
Posing & Scene Assembly: Posed each character and creature to convey action, tension, and narrative connection within the scene.
Lighting & Rendering: Developed the lighting setup to highlight focal points, enhance silhouettes, and create a dramatic, high-contrast mood. Rendered the final image in your preferred renderer (Corona/Redshift).
Compositing & FX: Composited the final rendered passes, adding color grading, glows, atmospheric effects, and post-processing to enhance mood and depth.
Final Presentation: Delivered a polished key art illustration suitable for worldbuilding, promotional mockups, and portfolio showcase.
