Teodoro 2021-2022

Teodoro is a long-running personal character development project that explores the evolution of a supernatural gunslinger and his monstrous steed, Savega, within the same universe as Michael, Denice, Shannon, and Hugo. This project spans multiple years, each version building on the last as you refined anatomy, silhouettes, costume design, creature proportions, and the overall cinematic tone.

My Role

Sole Creator: Responsible for every stage of production for both characters—concept art, sculpting, topology, rigging, lookdev, lighting, rendering, and final compositing.

Responsibilities:

Character Concept & Development

  • Designed Teodoro as a supernatural outlaw blending dark fantasy, western inspiration, and mythic gunslinger aesthetics.

  • Developed Savega as a monstrous mount—a hybrid of demonic anatomy, skeletal motifs, and armored horse proportions.

  • Refined silhouettes, armor shapes, and creature design across multiple versions as the project evolved.

Sculpting & Modeling

  • Sculpted high-poly sculpts for Teodoro’s muscular anatomy, armor plates, and accessories.

  • Built Savega’s full creature body, including stylized musculature, bone-like facial plates, hooves, and horn structures.

  • Created clean, animation-ready topology for both characters as models were updated over the years.

Rigging & Posing

  • Rigged Teodoro for expressive hero poses, cape motion, and weapon staging.

  • Rigged Savega for full quadruped articulation, rearing poses, and combat-ready stances.

  • Posed both characters for dramatic narrative renders.

Texturing & Lookdev

  • Painted stylized materials emphasizing grit, metallic wear, leather roughness, glowing emissive eyes, and dark fantasy mood.

  • Developed Savega’s unique surface qualities—blending creature skin with bone-like armor plates and glowing features.

Lighting & Cinematics

  • Built dramatic lighting setups inspired by pulp fantasy, horror westerns, and comic book noir.

  • Used volumetric fog, rim lights, strong color contrast, and atmospheric gradients to set tone and tension.

  • Rendered multiple scenes portraying key moments:

    • Teodoro at a grave under moonlight

    • A confrontational hero shot in the forest

    • Teodoro charging on Savega through a blazing sunset

Compositing & Final Polish

  • Enhanced mood using color grading, grain overlays, bloom, vignette, and atmospheric FX.

  • Combined render passes for maximum control over silhouettes, glows, and dramatic highlights.
