John Zink Marine Vapor Animation 2020
A technical animation created for John Zink to demonstrate the Marine Vapor system and its operational workflow. The animation highlights system layout, flow behavior, and gauge responses through detailed modeling, clean camera work, and synchronized flowline effects.
My Role:
Contributed across all major stages of production, from modeling and scene setup to animation, callouts, and compositing. Final cleanup and polish done by art director.
Responsibilites:
Modeling: Created detailed models and assets for the intro barge ship, ensuring accurate scale and visual clarity.
Scene Setup: Built and organized the full environment layout, placed key components, and prepared the scene for animation and rendering.
Pipe Manifolds: Set up the full pipe manifold system to match client references and operational diagrams.
Materials & Lookdev: Applied materials across the scene for clean industrial presentation.
Flowline Animation: Animated all flowlines and synchronized their color/state changes with the gauge readings for accurate visual communication.
Callouts: Designed and animated technical callouts to highlight system parts and operational steps.
Compositing: Assembled final renders, added post effects, and completed the composite in After Effects for a polished result.
Rendering: Rendered the sequence in Mental Ray through 3DS Max.
